Tomball Flooring, Priced Line by Line Before We Begin
We install hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, tile, laminate and carpet in homes across Tomball, Magnolia and The Woodlands. Before any work starts, you get a written quote that lists the rooms, the material, the prep your subfloor needs and the trim details, so the price you agree to is the price you pay.
- Line-item pricing up front
- Subfloor checked first
- Rooms protected during work
- Cleanup before we leave
Floors We Install
Our work covers the floors most families live on every day: hardwood flooring, luxury vinyl plank and luxury vinyl tile, tile flooring, laminate flooring, carpet installation and carpet tile. We also handle vinyl composition tile for utility rooms and garages converted to living space, and stair flooring that matches the rooms it connects. Each service page explains how that material behaves, where it suits your home and what tends to move its cost.

Hardwood Flooring
Solid and engineered hardwood installed over slab or wood subfloors, with moisture checks, trim details and the full scope written out before we begin.

Luxury Vinyl Plank
Water-resistant plank flooring set over a flattened, moisture-checked subfloor, with every prep step and trim piece spelled out in writing.
Tile Flooring
Porcelain, ceramic and stone tile set on a properly prepared slab, with removal, prep, membrane and trim each listed on your written estimate.
Laminate Flooring
Click-lock laminate installed over a flat, moisture-protected base, with every prep step and trim detail listed in your quote.
Carpet Installation
New carpet with properly chosen pad, planned seams and power-stretched installation, with every line of the job written out before the first strip goes down.
Carpet Tile
Soft, modular carpet squares for busy rooms, laid in the pattern you choose, with single tiles you can swap out later instead of replacing the whole floor.
Luxury Vinyl Tile
Stone and ceramic looks in a warmer, quieter vinyl tile, laid over a properly prepared floor and priced in writing first.
Vinyl Composition Tile
Hard-wearing 12-inch vinyl composition tile for utility spaces, laid on a flattened subfloor and finished with protective coats.

How a Flooring Job Runs
From the first conversation to the final walkthrough, you know what is happening and what comes next.
- 1
A phone conversation
You tell us which rooms, what you have now and what you are considering. We answer early questions and set a time to see the space.
- 2
Measuring and inspection
We measure each room, note doorways and stairs, check the existing floor and take moisture readings on the slab or subfloor.
- 3
Your itemized estimate
You get the full scope on paper, with material, prep, removal and trim listed separately. Take the time you need to review it and ask about any line.
- 4
Installation days
We protect the house, remove the old floor, prepare the subfloor and install. Hardwood and some vinyl products are delivered early to acclimate to your home before we begin.
- 5
Walkthrough and cleanup
We walk the finished floor with you, point out care instructions for the material and leave the rooms clean and ready for furniture.
How We Work in Your Home
A new floor is a large purchase you will walk on for years. We try to make every part of it clear before the first board, plank or tile is set.
Scope set down on paper
You receive the full scope on paper: square footage by room, the product, underlayment, removal of the old floor, leveling, transitions and baseboard or quarter-round work. If something is excluded, the document says so.
No add-ons after the fact
We look under the existing floor where we can and test the slab before we price the job. If we find something once the old flooring is up, we stop, show you photos and put any change in writing before we continue.
Prep is treated as part of the floor
Most flooring problems start underneath. Moisture testing, grinding high spots and filling low ones is the slow, unglamorous work that keeps planks from separating and tile from cracking, and we price it openly rather than skipping it.
Care for the rest of the house
We cover walkways, protect door frames and keep cutting outside or in one contained area when the room allows. At the end of each day the work area is swept, and the final day ends with a full cleanup.
Honest advice on materials
If a product you love is a poor match for a bathroom, a pet household or a slab with high moisture readings, we will tell you and suggest something that suits the room better.

About Flooring Tomball
Flooring Tomball is a residential flooring installer working in homes throughout Tomball and the nearby communities. We focus on installation: choosing the right material for each room, preparing what sits underneath it and setting it carefully so it looks and wears the way it should.
Our approach is simple. We explain the job before we do it, on paper, and we keep to what we listed. Humid summers and slab foundations are part of life here, so we pay close attention to moisture and flatness, because those two details decide how a floor holds up years from now.
Questions Homeowners Ask Us
- What does your written quote include?
- It lists each room with its square footage, the exact product, underlayment or moisture barrier, removal and disposal of the old floor, subfloor prep, transitions, stair work and trim. Anything we are not doing is noted as excluded. You can compare it line by line against another company's estimate.
- Will the price change once you pull up my old floor?
- We check what we can before pricing, including moisture readings and a look at the slab where it is exposed. Occasionally removal reveals damage nobody could see, such as rotted plywood or a badly cracked slab. If that happens, we pause, show you photos and write up the change for your approval before doing any extra work.
- Which flooring works best on a concrete slab in a humid climate?
- Luxury vinyl plank, porcelain tile and engineered hardwood all perform well on slabs when the moisture is managed. Solid hardwood can be used, but it needs a careful moisture test and a proper barrier. We will recommend options based on your readings and how each room is used.
- Is it possible to lay the new floor on top of what I have now?
- In some rooms, yes. When the tile or sheet vinyl already down is flat and well bonded, a click-together laminate or vinyl product can float above it, which takes the tear-out line off your quote. Carpet is never left in place, and anything loose, cracked or out of level comes up so the new floor has a sound base. After we see the room, the estimate states which approach we chose and the reason for it.
- How long will installation take?
- A single room of vinyl plank or carpet is often done in a day. Larger areas, tile with grout and curing time, or jobs that need leveling compound can take several days. Your estimate includes an expected schedule so you can plan around it.
- How should I treat the floor right after installation?
- Vinyl, laminate and carpet can usually be walked on as soon as we finish. Tile needs its grout to cure, so we will tell you how long to keep foot traffic light for the product used. Put felt pads under furniture legs before moving pieces back, and keep wet mops off wood and laminate.
- Do I need to move my furniture before you arrive?
- Please clear small items, breakables and anything inside closets or cabinets in the work area. Ask about large furniture when we measure, and we will note on the estimate how it will be handled so there are no questions on installation day.
- Is your installation work covered by a warranty?
- Yes. Every installation we complete carries a 1-year workmanship warranty. Coverage for the material itself comes from the product's manufacturer, and we can go over what that looks like for the floor you choose.
What Shapes the Price of a New Floor
Two homes with the same square footage can carry very different prices. The difference usually comes from what sits under the old floor and how the rooms are laid out. Here is what we measure and list for you.
We measure in your home, then give you a written quote by line item. Nothing beyond what that document lists is billed unless you approve a change first.
- Area and layout
- Total square footage matters, but so does shape. Hallways, closets, angled walls and pattern layouts like herringbone take more cuts and produce more waste than one open rectangle.
- Product choice
- Each material carries its own cost per square foot and its own installation demands. A floating click-lock plank goes down differently than boards that are nailed or glued, and porcelain needs mortar, spacing and grout, so labor shifts along with the material.
- Subfloor condition
- Most homes in this area sit on concrete slabs. A slab that is out of flat, cracked or showing high moisture may need grinding, self-leveling compound or a vapor barrier before anything goes down.
- Removing the old floor
- Pulling carpet is quick. Removing glued-down wood or tile set in mortar takes time, produces heavy debris and can leave adhesive that has to be scraped away.
- Stairs and transitions
- Each stair tread and riser is fitted by hand, and doorways between different floors need thresholds or reducers. These are counted one by one on the estimate.
- Trim and finishing
- Replacing baseboards, adding quarter-round or undercutting door casings all affect the final number, and we list each one separately.
